What is a Prenatal Massage?
A Prenatal Massage offers expectant mothers an excellent way to alleviate stress and ease the aches and pains commonly associated with pregnancy. Our licensed massage therapists are specially trained in proper positioning and support for a woman’s body during the massage. Modified techniques and positioning ensure that every mom-to-be can safely and comfortably enjoy her massage experience.
To receive a prenatal massage, clients must be beyond their first trimester. During the session, you will lie on your side or back with specially provided pillows to maintain comfort throughout the treatment.
Request an AppointmentYour licensed massage therapist will employ gentle, relaxing strokes akin to those used in Swedish massage, focusing on areas that typically cause discomfort during pregnancy, such as the lower back, hips, and legs.
You will be fully and modestly draped with a sheet or blanket during your massage. The therapist will only uncover the specific areas being worked on, re-draping and tucking for your comfort. Clients may also request that certain areas of their body not be massaged.
Benefits of a Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage helps reduce stress, decrease swelling, and alleviate the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. It can also lower anxiety and depression levels, and improve sleep quality, which is crucial and often challenging to achieve during this time.
